This week has been somewhat busy and somewhat scary. I didn't have any appointments other than 2 emergency appointments this week... When it rains, it pours. Yogi has very bad allergy problems and overnight on Tuesday, his paws were so raw and red, I thought he would make himself bleed... so we schedule an appointment with the vet's office for Wednesday. The vet had said it is allergies and most likely environmental, however, he was concerned it could be mites or some type of mange that apparently has been going around for the last few months as an "outbreak". We do NOT think it is mange or mites because Kole doesn't have anything wrong with him. In return, they gave him a cortisone shot and after speaking with our breeder, she advised against the allergy medication they are giving us and just simply use benadryl as well as other otc medicines for him.
We wound up having to move his neuter date to this coming week on the 17th. At the time they neuter him, they will be taking scrapings of his paw to see if he has mites as well as a nice nail trim... he has to be put under to get his nails trimmed now anyways, so why not do it all at once. Overall, we get him back on the 18th and then we have to watch him over the weekend to make sure he doesn't break his stitches or have any ill side effects to his anesthesia.
Our other scary visit would have been on Friday. I was using the restroom after lunch and while I was sitting there tinkling (tmi, sorry) I had the absolute worst possible cramping in my lower abdomen that I have ever felt. I couldn't un-clench my abs or even move. I literally had to sit there for 10 minutes until it eased up. I wound up going back to my desk and in return it came right back as soon as I sat back down. I was literally in the panic thought process of I am having a miscarriage or this is pre-term labor. I was absolutely terrified. I made an emergency appointment with my OB and she cleared her schedule for me. I got there, in tears, in pain and frustrated with myself thinking I had done something wrong.
Well, it turns out that I have severe round ligament pain. In return, my OB said my torso is much shorter (you will see how big I have gotten in the pic below) than the average person. My ligaments are having a harder time stretching. She felt for about 20 minutes making sure I wasn't having an contractions and came to the conclusion tat it is round ligament pain, just mine was a much stronger case. I was told that if I started bleeding or having water fluid over the weekend, to go straight to labor and delivery at CMH. Luckily, knock on wood, everything is okay and I just have to deal with the pain until Mr. Anson arrives. She sent me home on partial bed rest, with absolutely no physical activity.
On a positive note, Anson has kicked me or moved for the first time above my belly button! It was a different feeling considering it normally happens underneath my belly button! It took me by surprise! He sure loves smoothies! It must be the sugar, because every time I drink one, it is a crazy moving fest after the fact! He has been quite active though, all week! Starting to get more and more!
Overall, other than the scares, the week has been pretty good. I do keep waking up extremely sore and in pain from our bed. When we moved into our townhome, the tempurpedic we had, had a hole in it as well as the fact that because our rooms are so humid, it wound up getting mold on the bed. So we wound up geting a posturpedic thinking if we save some money, the bed will be just as good, if not better. However, a tempurpedic is the BEST bed anyone can get. 2 years later, I have a cocoon for a bed spot and so does Clark. The middle, however, is perfectly firm. So, we decided it be best so spend a few grand just to get the tempurpedic. It arrives on Monday, so I am so excited to have a bed that is comfortable again, and hopefully will be perfect!
Lastly, the majority of my baby shower invites went out this week!! I made them all myself, printed, etc. and I actually ran out of invites, so the rest will go out this week! The pictures are below :) I blurred out all of the information.. sorry
